Liver Veggie Dinner for Dogs
Louisdog here… I want to share one of my best recipes for home made dog food. This recipe is for
Liver Veggie Dinner
Homemade dog food is the best! I rrruff it much better than the commercial dog food. Whenever Mimi makes my food at home she is showing real love.
This recipe fur dog liver veggie dinner takes only a few minutes to prepare.
- 1 package raw chicken liver
- 2 tbsp. olive oil
- handful of green beans
- handful of raw spinach
- 1 cup water
- Heat olive oil in a frying pan.
- Add liver and vegetables
- Cook over medium heat until the liver is well done and the vegetables are medium-soft.
- Add the water toward the end of the cooking time. This should make a nice sauce. If necessary add some more water.
- For smaller dogs: After cooking is complete, cool it and then chop the liver into bite-sized pieces.
As you can see, I just woof this stuff!
Depending on the size of your dog, you may have some of this homemade dog food left over. If you do, keep it in a tightly closed container for up to five days.
Also, it is impawtant to remember not to overfeed your dog. I know because I have a tendency to gain weight and that is not good! For more about this and pet obesity, you can read this article from Pet MD.
Kitties can eat this recipe if you remove the veggies. In other words, cats can have only the the liver. This is because kitties are carnivores and they do not require vegetables at all. In our house, Mimi gives me the liver with vegetables and she picks out pieces of liver for the cat. This way the kitty and I are both happy and well fed!
